I recently reported my 2020 bedbug infestation which lasted from May - Sept 2020. It’s February 2021 I have a reinfestation now. I’ve had no guests to my unit. They are all over the common areas and hallways. Management refuses to acknowledge that the building is infested. Tenants don’t report issues in this building. Management is very biased toward subsidized tenants. They say they do heat treatments, but it’s always spot sprays. Pest control staff won’t do an effective job if they

don’t like” the tenant. As a single mother that is extremely disturbing - what does a lone woman in her apartment have to do to get a pest control staff to “like” her enough to do a good job???

I had to deal with multiple bed bug treatments from May to September of 2020. Pest control often was a no show with excuses they couldn’t enter my unit even though I was home and no one knocked or tried to use a key to enter. I had to seek confirmation. Pest control staff even stated “I will only do a perimeter spray if I like you”. Nothing is done to ensure cracks are caulked around the unit. Laundry room was also infested. Multiple units were infested. It’s very difficult to convey con

cerns to staff when they insist the issue is fleas forcing you to show them a picture of the bedbug issue. They say they will renovate the building, it never gets done because all the money is being spent on 2739 where the TCHC head office is. TCHC tenant coordinators are clueless about the infestation issues their tenants in 2743 are dealing with. Proper maintenance would help the infestation of the building greatly, but it always seems to take a back burner. Cockroaches are also a chronic issue, they are in elevators, the lobby, basement, stairwells and hallways. You have to chase staff for maintenance issues and have to keep chasing issues with reference numbers.

In the year 2019 I dealt with a chronic bed bug issue in my unit. They are everywhere. Laundry room, hallways, even elevators. Property management has to schedule weekly treatments on a variety of units throughout the building regularly including common areas. Cockroaches are exactly the same especially in units that have cracked and old cement or drywall. Upon moving into this building, assume you are already infested and insist on all cracks in the unit to be filled in before the move in date.
